Predictive Load Management (PLM) is able to eliminate full cycle firing drawbacks.

Two key strategies are included in the PLM function: Load Balancing (or Load Sharing) and Load Shedding. Overall the load balancing strategy is the most important part of PLM to combine multiple SCR’s that are full cycle firing together with a stable overall power demand.

Load balancing is a strategy of equally distributing power of different loads to obtain an overall power consumption as stable and balanced as possible thus eliminating peaks of power. Each heating zone controlled by an SCR controller, is defined by an output power, cycle time and a maximum power (max capacity), which can be pictured as a rectangle. Rather than letting these rectangles pile up randomly, the PLM equipped controller uniformly distributes them thereby ensuring that at any given moment the overall power is as stable and balanced as possible. It is important to understand that the PLM function does not change the output power but rather balances and shifts the power evenly thereby eliminating any disturbance. The result is optimum load management through intelligent load balancing and load sharing, a strategy that will eliminate peaks and flicker and even the out overall power usage.

By using the PLM function, manufacturers are now able to use zero cross firing for their system without any drawbacks. Eliminating Phase Angle firing significantly improves the power factor which in turn results in substantial savings.

Additionally, using energy more efficiently (i.e. substantially decreasing the reactive power (KVAR) results in less power generated by the utility company. In fact, we should consider that consuming reactive power is in the end simply a waste of energy. While a bad power factor forces the utility company to generate this extra reactive power, it will be of absolutely no use to the end user. Besides saving costs, implementing a best practice of efficient energy consumption also results in considerably less CO2 emissions released in the atmosphere.

The 3500 is a fully programmable controller suitable for precision control of temperature, dew-point, carbon potential and oxygen in atmosphere heat treatment applications.

It is capable of being used solely to control the carbon potential, oxygen in a furnace or dew-point. Also functioning as an integrated furnace controller where any of these variables are controlled in conjunction with temperature. Additional features provide combined logic and math functions.

At the heart of the controller is a specially designed function block capable of accepting most zirconia probes. Standard features include an automatic probe cleaning routine, a shooting alarm and diagnostics indicating that the probe is about to fail and should be replaced.
For standard solutions controllers can be configured with features and user screens.

User customization can be achieved by reconfiguring the unit either via the front panel or the comprehensive PC based Eurotherm iTools.

The customer is additionally avoiding tariffs that could be assessed if stringent government emissions tolerance requirement are not met consistently. The solutions enables accurate record-keeping that provides proof of the provider's compliance. Without these reports, the operation would be in danger of being shut down.

EPower's ability accurately predict continually and, to monitor and adjust to demand is creating more efficient energy production for the customer. Company executives estimate that the solutions will reduce energy costs by improving overall process efficiency by as much as 10%. Because no electrical parts were ever exposed, the configuration also offered a secondary safety benefit, especially to untrained personnel.

Mechanical contactors controlling heating elements may operate three million times per year. The lifetime of these contactors is between 1 and 3 years; therefore they need to be replaced regularly during the typical life of an industrial machine.

Some Industrial processes require precise temperatures in order to comply with regulations and it is imperative that the workpiece temperature is kept within specific limits, such as heat treatment. This may be difficult to achieve in factories where the operation of large machinery can cause fluctuations in the voltage supply. PID Control Loops
The nanodac™ instrument can also provide two independent control loops (optional). This control functionality utilizes the advanced Eurotherm PID algorithm providing high performance and reliability to your process. It has one of the best auto-tunes facilities available along with overshoot inhibition (cutbacks); compensation for power fluctuations using power feedforward; linear, fan, oil and water cooling.

In the Heat Treatment processes set-points often need to vary control process over a set period of time. So this is achieved by using a set-point program.

The nanodac™ offers an optional Dual Programmer supporting up to 100 programs locally, each program supporting 25 segments.

The nanodac™ also provides remote access to a further 100 programs that can be easily retrieved via FTP or USB memory stick.

When enabled, EtherNet/IP allows the nanodac™ to act as either a Server or a Client, and (via virtual channels) provides data recording for up to 30 process parameters.

Data Recording and Acquisition

PID Control Loops
The nanodac™ instrument can also provide two independent control loops (optional). This control functionality utilizes the advanced Eurotherm PID algorithm providing high performance and reliability to your process. It has one of the best auto-tunes facilities available along with overshoot inhibition (cutbacks); compensation for power fluctuations using power feedforward; linear, fan, oil and water cooling.

In the Heat Treatment processes set-points often need to vary control process over a set period. So this is achieved by using a set-point program.

The nanodac™ offers an optional Dual Programmer supporting up to 100 programs locally, each program supporting 25 segments.

The nanodac™ also provides remote access to a further 100 programs that can be easily retrieved via FTP or USB memory stick.

Server mode or EtherNET/IP Client
As an option the nanodac™ recorder/controller can be easily integrated with an existing instrument network, and act as local data historian. The PG10 Operator Interface Terminal combines unique capabilities normally expected from high-end units but at a very affordable price. It is built around a high-performance core with integrated functionality. This core allows the PG10 to perform many of the normal features of the Paradigm range of Operator Interfaces while improving and adding new features.

The PG10 can communicate with many different types of hardware using high-speed RS232/422/485 communications ports and Ethernet 10 Base T/100 Base-TX communications. In addition, the PG10 features a USB port for fast downloads of configuration files and access to trending and data logging. A CompactFlash socket is also given so that Flash cards can be used to collect your trending and data logging information as well as to store larger configuration files.

In addition to accessing and controlling external resources, the PG10 allows a user to easily view and enter information. Users can enter data through the touchscreen or front panel 8-button keypad.

A universal input enables selection of nine internally stored thermocouple types and the PT100 resistance thermometer.  Linear inputs can be scaled to the desired display range. Two relay outputs are configurable for alarms. Three internal alarm setpoints are provided- configurable as high, low or deviation. Alarms can be 'blocked' on start-up to prevent unnecessary operator alerts.

The 1/32 DIN Eurotherm 2132i temperature and process controller comes with indication and alarming capabilities. Relay outputs can be used to implement over temperature furnace limits and other such process interlocks.

The method for automatic tuning automatically determines the value of the parameters listed in table 4-1 in the image above. The 2208e and 2204e uses a “one-shot” tuner in which works by switching the output on and off to induce an oscillation in the measured value. From the amplitude and period of the oscillation, it calculates the tuning parameter values.

If the tuning process cannot tolerate full heating or cooling being applied, then the level of heating or cooling can be restricted by setting the heating and cooling power limits in the Output list. However, the measured value must oscillate to some degree for the tuner to be able to calculate values.

A one-shot Tune can be performed at any time but normally, it is performed only once during the initial commissioning of the process. However, if the process under control subsequently becomes unstable (because its characteristics have changed), you can re-tune again for the new conditions.

It is best to start tuning with the process at ambient temperature. This allows the tuner to calculate more accurately the low cutback and high cutback values that restrict the amount of overshoot or undershoot.

The Eurotherm 2108i horizontal mount indicator and alarm unit provides accurate measurement and display of temperature and other processing variables in a standard 1/8 DIN panel format. The two alarm relay outputs are provided for an operator alert and process protection.

A universal input allows selection of nine internally stored thermocouple types. Other input linearization may be factory downloaded. Linear, process inputs are scalable to the desired range.  Keylock and passwords prevent unauthorized access to configuration and alarm settings.

A large, red, or green LED display gives good visibility in low and high ambient lighting.

New alarms can be acknowledged and old alarms reset by a front panel button or an external contact closure input.

Three internal alarm setpoints are provided. They are configurable as high, or low, or rate of change alarms. Any combination of these three internal alarms can activate the two relay outputs. Latching or non-latching operation can be selected and alarm delays can be applied. A special mode known as “alarm blocking” is available. In this mode, after power on, the process value must first enter a good state before the alarm becomes active. This is particularly useful for low alarms which can be “blocked” while the process is warming-up.

Calibration accuracy is preserved with a self-correcting input circuit, while a User Calibration facility allows offsets to be applied to compensate for sensor and other system errors.

The 3504 controller is supplied in the standard ¼ DIN size (96 x 96mm front panel). The 3504 Controller contains up to six plug-in hardware modules; the 3508 Controller has up to three. Moreover, digital communications modules can be fitted in two positions.

These modules provide an interface to a wide range of plant devices and those fitted to it are identified by an ordering code printed on a label to the side of the instrument. This code defines the basic functionality of the instrument which may be:

• Controller only
• Programmer and controller
• Control type – Standard PID, valve positioner
• Digital communications type
• Options

• A one-shot tuner which automatically sets up the initial values of the parameters listed in Table 4-1 below.

• Adaptive tuning which continuously monitors the error from setpoint and modifies the PID values if necessary.

One-shot Tuning:
The ‘one-shot’ tuner works by switching the output on and off to induce an oscillation in the measured value. From the amplitude and period of the oscillation, it calculates the tuning parameter values. If the process cannot tolerate full heating or cooling being applied during tuning, then the level of heating or cooling can be restricted by setting the heating and cooling power limits in the ‘oP’ list.

How to tune
1. Set the setpoint to the value at which you will normally operate the process.
2. In the ‘Atun’ list, select ‘tunE’ and set it to ‘on’.
3. Press the Page and Scroll buttons together to return to the Home display. The display will flash ‘tunE’ to indicate that tuning is in progress.
4. The controller induces an oscillation in the temperature by first turning the heating on, and then off. The first cycle is not complete until the measured value has reached the required setpoint.
5. After two cycles of oscillation the tuning is completed and the tuner switches itself off.
6. The controller then calculates the tuning parameters listed in Table 4-1 above, and resumes normal control action. If you want ‘Proportional only’, ‘PD’, or ‘PI’ control, you should set the ‘ti’ or ‘td’ parameters to OFF before commencing the tuning cycle. The tuner will leave them off and will not calculate a value for them.

Calculation of the cutback values
Low cutback and High cutback are values that restrict the amount of overshoot or undershoot that occurs during large step changes in temperature (for example, under start-up conditions). If either low cutback, or high cutback, is set to ‘Auto’ the values are fixed at three times the proportional band, and are not changed during automatic tuning.

Adaptive tune
Adaptive tuning is a background algorithm, which continuously monitors the error from setpoint and analyses the control response during process disturbances. If the algorithm recognizes an oscillatory, or under-damped, response it recalculates the Pb, ti and td values. Adaptive tune is triggered whenever the error from setpoint exceeds a trigger level. This trigger level is set in the parameter ‘drA.t’, which is found in the Autotune list. The value is in display units. It is automatically set by the controller, but can also be manually re-adjusted. Adaptive tune should be used with:

1. Processes whose characteristics change as a result of changes in the load, or setpoint.
2. Processes that cannot tolerate the oscillation induced by a One-shot tune.

Adaptive tune should not be used:
1. Where the process is subjected to regular external disturbances that could mislead the adaptive tuner.
2. For highly interactive multi-loop applications.

However, moderately interactive loops, such as multi-zone extruders, should not give a problem.

MANUAL TUNING
If for any reason automatic tuning gives unsatisfactory results, you can tune the controller manually. There are a number of standard methods for manual tuning. The one described here is the Ziegler-Nichols method.

With the process at its normal running temperature:
1. Set the Integral Time ‘ti’ and the Derivative Time ‘td’ to OFF.
2. Set High Cutback and Low Cutback, ‘Hcb’ and ‘Lcb’, to ‘Auto’.
3. Ignore the fact that the temperature may not settle precisely at the setpoint.
4. If the temperature is stable, reduce the proportional band ‘Pb’ so that the temperature just starts to oscillate. If the temperature is already oscillating, increase the proportional band until it just stops oscillating. Allow enough time between each adjustment for the loop to stabilize. Make a note of the proportional band value ‘B’ and the period of oscillation ‘T’.

The 3508 controller is supplied in the standard 1/8 DIN size (48 x 96mm front panel).

It is intended for permanent installation, for indoor use only, in an electrical panel, which encloses the rear housing, terminals and wiring on the back.

The functionality of controller depends on the features which have been ordered, see order code Section 1.2 below. Examples are:-

Programmer. A programmer varies the rate of change of setpoint allowing a profile to be set up.

Plug in modules. These provide customized input/output to plant devices.
The functionality of the controller also depends on how it has been configured. When it is first supplied the controller will enter a Quick Configuration mode which allows a basic set of features to be set up operation ‘out of the box’.

With the rapidly changing glass panels industry for cars, the complexity of shape and integration of sensors has been critical. As more demands for more stringent tolerances and the introduction of more complex forms and shapes, the automobile production process for glass panels has become extremely complex.

For example in a Tunnel Furnace where hundreds of sub zones, requiring precise and complex temperature control, running multiple recipes to allow maximum production, flexibility is a necessity. Resistive elements as well as medium wave infrared heaters have to be controlled to very tight parameters while maximizing energy efficiency.
Around the world, Eurotherm temperature control, power control and supervisory systems for windscreen forming are in operation. They provide:

• Accurate open or closed loop power control
• Accurate multi-zone temperature control
• Power control set point transfer and monitoring by digital communication, reducing the I/O requirements of the control system
• Feed through control
• Advanced single cycling for infra-red elements, eliminating DC components

In power glass applications, Eurotherm has always been present and successful:

• Bottle manufacturing: boosting, feeder heating
• Windscreen forming
• Flat glass: roof heating, annealing
• Glass wire manufacturing: boosting, feeder heating, bushing

The principle of windscreen forming is that the flat windscreen is going through a tunnel furnace on a very precise form. There is one type of form per type of windscreen. When at the right temperature, assisted by gravity the soft glass will take accurately to the form.

The pre-heating zone is the first part of the furnace where the temperature accurately controlled. The second part is the forming zone with a precise electrical power control. Heating elements are metallic resistors, medium wave infra-red, with a low temperature coefficient. Heat transfer to the windscreen is a combination of infra-red emission and air heating.

The quality and precision of the windscreen banding is given by the accuracy of forming zone power control and the accuracy of the pre-heating zone temperature controls.

On these furnaces, the number of zones can be very high, 100 to 300 zones. Present tendency is to increase the number of zones to improve precision of banding and to manufacture more complicated and various windscreen shapes. The total power of such furnaces can be several hundred kW to several MW.

Architecture of the installation

• The electrical control architecture of the installation is as follows:
• A PLC supervisory system is controlling the furnace: temperature in pre-heating, zone, power informing zone.
• Heating elements power control is made with multi-channel communicating power units, EPower Series for both forming and pre-heating zones.
• Firing mode: single cycle.
• Control mode: precise power U x I, very important for banding accuracy.
• Through communication link (Modbus or Profibus depending on type of PLC), all EPower parameters are available (read and write) on the supervisory system: load output, power set point, status word/alarms.

Millisecond set point transfer
On the furnace forming part, during process time each windscreen stays in a heating zone; its next working set point, for the next heating zone it will move into, is loaded in each EPower channel. When all the windscreens reach their next heating zone, a single command through the communication link will transfer in a few milliseconds all pre-loaded set points for each zone as an active set point.

The labels on the sides of the controller identify the ordering code, the serial number, and the wiring connections.

Understanding the Ordering Code
The 2408 and 2404 controllers have a modular hardware construction, which accepts up to three plug-in Input/Output modules and two communications modules to satisfy a wide range of control requirements. Two digital inputs and an optional alarm relay form part of the fixed hardware build. The ordering code is in two parts. The hardware coding and an optional configuration coding. The hardware coding specifies the basic build of the controller and the plug-in modules that are fitted

Let’s describe how the nanodac can be used to control the dosing level of a liquid or gas using the Feedforward feature of the PID algorithm to achieve an output proportional to the flow rate of the fluid.

Data Recorder with PID Control
The nanodac recorder/controller provides combined recording and control in a single ¼ DIN package.

The Nanodac is ideal for use on any application requiring up to four real universal inputs. In addition, fourteen inputs can also be written to over communications effectively making an 18 channel data logger. It also contains 2 PID control loops, which can be configured to control temperature, pressure, level, and process variables such as flow, etc,.

Additionaly, the nanodac recorder provides powerful logging and secure archiving of the data. It can store information in either or a secure (UHH), or open CSV format, or a check summed format to protect data integrity.

Also available is live trending, a simple menu allows any selected portion of the recorder history to be archived, either to a ‘memory stick’ plugged into the USB port at the rear of the recorder (Local Archiving) or to a computer or server, by means of the FTP protocol (Remote Archiving). This archived data remains in the flash (50MB) memory of the instrument and can be reviewed directly on the instrument display.

Archive period between the last hour, last day, last week, last month, can be chosen. Also one can archive everything in the recorders history or archive all files created since or updated since the last archive.

The archive status is displayed on the nanodac recorder/controller, which shows when data is being transferred or is complete. The archive data includes actual values from real or communications channels (PV), Alarm Messages, and Operator Input Messages. All of this information is accurately dated and time stamped from the on-board real time clock.

Residual control (Dosing)
Dosing or residual control, as it is also known, is the nomenclature given to the technique for controlling the addition of a substance to a flowing liquid or gas. Typically a dosing system is designed so that the required dosing level can be achieved by maintaining the control signal as a proportion of the fluid flow rate. The residual (dosing) level is used by the control algorithm to trim the output signal by the required amount. Any industry that mixes substances into flowing fluids potentially has the requirement for this type of control. These include the water, distilling, brewing, concrete, china clay, paper and soft drink industries or any process requiring disinfection in cooling towers, drinking water, food and beverage, swimming pools and wastewater.

Dosing Control Example

The figure above shows the general arrangement of the dosing control system which in this example uses chlorine as the dosing additive. The main fluid flow is measured upstream from the dosing pump, while the chlorine level is measured downstream. The feed forward feature in the control loop is used to achieve an output proportional to the fluid flow rate. This means that the dosing rate immediately tracks any changes in the flow rate and so avoids under or over dosing.

The dosing concentration, measured downstream, can be used to provide closed loop PID control action to trim the feed forward output. When the flow rate varies so will the transport delay of the control loop. To compensate for this, the integral time of the controller should be increased as the fluid flow rate reduces. This is achieved by using the Gain Scheduling feature of the nanodac recorder/controller. Three sets of control parameters are available, the active set selected according to the flow rate.

In some cases the dosing level to be controlled is further downstream from the dosing pump. This maybe by as much as fifteen to thirty minutes at normal flow rates. In these cases, providing the dosing level can also be measured much closer to the pump then the second loop in the nanodac recorder/controller can be used in cascade. The master loop controls the dosing level at the point further downstream. Process feedforward can still be used to compensate for flow rate changes.

Internal ‘Soft’ Wiring
In the above example, dosing level is measured using channel 1 configured for 4-20mA input. It is connected to the main PV input of the control loop. 

The flow rate is measured upstream using channel 2 configured for 4-20mA input, which is connected to the Feedforward input of the control loop.

The Control output is connected via Output Module 3. This is assumed to be 4-20mA in this example, but other outputs (such as on/off) may be used to match the type of pump in use.

Typical applications include hot runner control, plastics extrusion, thermal forming, chillers, furnaces and ovens, stress relieving and many more.

It has a modular hardware construction in a 1/16 DIN size with self-tuning and the option of two control outputs, one alarm relay and a communications module. The hardware is configurable for heating, cooling or alarms. The 2216e is fully on-site configurable.

Precise advanced PID control algorithm gives stable ‘Straight-line’ control of the process. A one-shot tuner is provided to set up the initial PID values and to calculate the overshoot inhibition parameters. Power feedback is used to stabilize the output power on electrically heated loads to control temperature against supply voltage fluctuations.

It comes with a universal input circuit with an advanced analogue to digital convertor samples the input at 9Hz and continuously corrects it for drift. Input filtering from OFF to 999.9 seconds is included.

Sensor diagnostics are provided, plus dedicated cooling algorithms ensure optimum control, water and oil cooled systems. This gives high stability and rapid response to process changes. High noise immunity is achieved by rejection of 50/60Hz pick-up and other sources of noise. The input will accept all standard thermocouples, the Pt100 resistance temperature detectors and linear millivolts, milliamps or DC volts.

A LED display provides a bright, clear display of the setpoint and process value. Tactile push buttons ensure positive operation. Access to other parameters is simple and easy to understand and can be customized to present only those parameters that need to be viewed or adjusted. All other parameters are locked away under password protection.

Eurotherm 2132 (1/32 DIN) Temperature Controllers provide flexible solutions.

The Eurotherm 2132 instruments use advanced PID algorithms to give stable ‘straight line’ temperature control. Self-tuning is included to optimize the control performance without the need for specialist knowledge or training.

A universal input allows selection of nine internally stored thermocouple types and the Pt100 resistance temperature detectors. Other input linearizations may be factory downloaded. Linear inputs can be scaled to the desired display range.

Two outputs are configurable for heating, cooling or alarms.

Three internal alarm setpoints are provided, configurable as high, low or deviation alarms. Alarms can be ‘blocked’ on start-up to prevent unnecessary operator alerts.

Heater failure can be detected when the controller is used with an Efit Solid State Relay.

The operator interface can be customized to present only those parameters that an operator needs to see and adjust, while all other parameters are locked away under password protection. Tactile buttons ensure positive operation.

The 3000 recipe function is unique one in many controllers of this class. Recipes can be stored under a user-defined name to recall a number of parameter settings. These settings may include operating variables or configuration parameters, providing a very powerful means of altering the setup of a controller in a single operation. Recipes may be recalled either from the HMI, over the communications link, or using digital inputs.

A current transformer input in the 3200 measures the current switched through the load. The measurement is filtered so that the on current and off currents can be separated. From this, it is possible to diagnose several load faults including partial load failure, over current and an SSR fault. Typical applications include plastic extrusion, laboratory ovens and other applications where early indication of heater failure can save energy and rework costs.

The Eurotherm 3216 has been implemented as a Chiller controller in the USA plastic market with much success.

Below is a list of the 3216 features:
1. The model 3216 has only a 90 mm depth, which allowed chiller manufacturers to have easy installation.
2. Configure of the 3216 controlleris made easy by a text display, So the user can scroll to a parameter and just a few seconds, the text display begins scrolling in marquee fashion with a description of that parameter.
3. Ordering, maintenanceand configuration have been simplified to the use of a mere 10-digit code that completely specifies the functionality and configuration.
4. Event Messages and Custom alarm can be created and loaded into the 3216.
5. The Eurotherm 3216 can replace the external timer.A timer can be used to put the unit into standby while the system is purged. Most OEMs use an external timer today, so with the 3216, a timer is not needed
6. Digital Communication is also a needed feature when selling to Chiller OEMs, and the Eurotherm 3216 meets that need.

Plastic Chiller Overview

A chiller commonly represents a small fraction of the cost of the processing equipment, yet it provides solid protection of your investment, 24-hours-a-day, and 7-days-a-week for years and years to come.The most compelling reason for a chiller in the plastics market is the protection it provides for your valuable processing equipment—such as extrusion, injection molding equipment and other applications. To increase production is another reason to use a chiller as you maintain a constant and proper cooling temperature in the equipment. A chiller will reduce the number of rejected parts while increasing the number of parts produced per hour.

A chiller is a compressor based cooling system that is similar to an air conditioner except it cools and controls the temperature of a liquid instead of air. The other main components to a chiller are a temperature controller, a recirculation pump and a reservoir. The operation and setup are simple. Fill the reservoir with fluid to be recirculated, typically water or an ethylene glycol/water mix. Install plumbing between the chiller and the application and provide power to the chiller. The controller regulates the chiller’s functions. The chiller will provide a stable flow, temperature and pressure once it has been programmed by a user. Harmful particles are kept out of the system by an internal strainer.

There are three (3) types of chillers.

An air-cooled chiller where the chillers absorb heat from process water and can be transferred to the surrounding air. Air-cooled chillers are generally used in applications where the additional heat they discharge is not a factor. They require less maintenance than water-cooled units and eliminate the need for a cooling tower and condense water pump. They generally consume approximately 10% more power than a water-cooled unit as a wet surface transfer’s heat better than a dry surface.

Second is the portable chiller, which is a liquid cooling system on casters that can be relocated from one application to another with relative ease. It can be used to cool one or more heat generating devices.

Finally, we have water-cooled chiller, which absorb heat from process water and transfer it to a separate water source such as a cooling tower, river, pond, etc. They are generally used for large capacity applications, where the heat generated by an air-cooled chiller creates a problem. Water-cooled chillers are also considered when a cooling tower is already in place, or where the customer requires optimum efficiency of power consumption. They require condenser water treatment to eliminate mineral buildup. Mineral deposits create poor heat transfer situations, which reduce the efficiency of the unit.

Summation

The Eurotherm 3216 is being used more and more to replace several interconnected devices to chillersand consolidate functions. The level of functionality, alarmingand programmability gives the user a way to create a local custom alarm strategy that can best achieve the operating safety of the machine that will help improve qualityand minimize downtime.

Here are some of the free features found in a 3500 series unit not found in a 2400 unit:

Fusing

Inputs

Firing is ON/OFF in response to the logic input, with zero voltage switching. A green ‘heat’ LED indicator on the front face indicates the status of the input signal.

These units, with integral heatsinks, are driven by a logic input signal which can be either AC or DC.

The 3200i range of Eurotherm indicators offer accurate indication of temperature and process measurements. Process interlocks, including over-temperature furnace limits, are implemented using relay output channels.
